“Boner-High Club”

April 1, 2010

Over at City Pages blog Gimme Noise, Patrick Strait gives some advice on joining what he prefers to call the “boner-high club” – it’s hilariously awesome (he also calls it “hot sky-love,” another phrase I’m digging):

The most important first step when it comes to finding a “Boner-High Club” partner (totally rolls off the tongue, amiright?) is scouting the talent on the plane.

So who should you look for? The fun-loving college girl who is super-psyched to do tequila shots on the beach? The sexy cougar who has already had three red wines before take off? The creepy 27-year-old throwing a temper tantrum over the fact that they aren’t offering Coors Light (the official beer of sky-boning) on the flight?

No. I’m talking about the flight attendants. Hear me out.

After sitting on a plane for four hours, most people are tired, bored and full of rage. Now imagine being on a plane for 18 hours straight. What would you do to break up the monotony?

Exactly; anything.

That’s why you need to keep your eyes open and look for flight attendants who appear to be somewhat sleep deprived and potentially delusional. They’ll be looking for any source of entertainment, opening the door for a romantic encounter for even the most mediocre of gentlemen.

Celebrity pilot back in the air after joining mile-high club with porn star

March 29, 2010

From TMZ:

Celeb pilot David Martz — who joined the mile-high club with a porn star last year while operating a helicopter — got his license back yesterday … and he says he passed his oral exam with flying colors.

The FAA stripped Martz (left) of his pilot’s license last year after footage surfaced of the pilot and porn star Puma Swede engaging in oral sex … 10,000 feet above residential areas in San Diego.

Martz — who flew a number of celebs including Tommy Lee — met with an FAA rep yesterday who gave him an oral exam and then a practical flying exam where they tested him on emergency procedures, cross country, and … ahem … auto rotation.

Martz says he’s happy to have part of his life back, promising “no shenanigans” in the cockpit from here on out.

Great review of The Mile High Club

January 4, 2010

The Mile High Club: Plane Sex Stories got a great review over at News, Reviews, and Interviews of the Other Industry!

They gave it a 4.5 out of 5 and wrote in part:

“A Brief Respite” by Desiree is about a female questioning whether she’s in the right relationship. While her flight to see his parents, she encounters a flight attendant who makes her horny. Since her boyfriend is busy listening to his iPod, she fantasizes of the straight male attendant. Things escalate when she acts on her whim by diddling herself in the bathroom!

There are other stories that are silly, but worth reading like “Get on, Get off” by Jeremy Edwards where an airline offers M(asturbation)-Class service and “Top Banana” by Craig Sorensen with the latter one being about a struggling computer salesman that gets his groove back after getting fresh with one of the female attendants who shows him who’s top banana, so to speak!

Then, we have the two gems of the anthology Donna Storey’s “Nasty Little Habit” and “Aisle Seat” by Stan Kent. The former title is about a recently promoted female excecutive who tries to break her habit of diddling herself during flight. Thankfully, she doesn’t have to break because she has someone else doing it for her. The latter story is definitely the best in the collection and almost conjures up the imagery from the front cover. It’s about a chance encounter with a sultry Italian woman that leads to a lustful mile-high session in the bathroom!

Introduction: Flying High

The Mile High Club is, for many, the stuff of legend, but I’m here to tell you that where there’s a will, there’s a way. Flying can bring out so many of our insecurities, fears, and frustrations, that it’s natural we’d want to find a way to relieve all that tension by getting it on. Indeed, several of the stories here deal with sex as a way to conquer a fear of flying.

Just as I was completing this volume, I got a call from a friend who told me that on the way back from a family vacation, he got it on with a woman he ran into on the plane whom he’d known, but never slept with. They managed to have full-on intercourse (and much more) as the rest of the passengers slept–or so they thought! They found out later that they’d been true exhibitionists, seen by horny voyeurs.

In these stories, characters are often surprised to find themselves engaging in such risqué behavior midflight. The surprise and naughtiness make what’s happening even hotter. For others, it’s been carefully orchestrated, such as the woman meeting her online pen pal in “34B” or the one putting her arsenal of sex toys to good use in “Obedient.”

Other scenarios are more fanciful, and, unless you’re really lucky, are probably not going to happen to you. Part of the thrill of even thinking about the mile high club is that in such close quarters, someone’s bound to notice the movements, noises, and sensations of sex happening near him or her. Voyeurism and exhibitionism are part and parcel of sex on a plane, even if you never officially get caught.

I’m sure you are probably picturing getting it on in a tiny airplane bathroom, and yes, that happens here. But there’s more than one way to join the Mile High Club, as the “Wild Child” in the story by Matt Conklin learns when her kinky new friend asks for some extra ice. And in “Bermuda Triangle,” we’re introduced to a threesome that takes edge play to new heights, as a man is blindfolded and instructed to fly, his fear upping the ante for the novel sexual encounter about to take place.

While this isn’t a how-to manual, I’m sure you can pick up a few tips on the fine art of blanket placement and in-flight discretion from these talented writers. Alas, during the numerous flights I’ve taken in the last year, nothing so risqué has happened to me, but that hasn’t stopped me from fantasizing about what might be going on a few rows over, or wondering, as I stand in the security line, who might try to pick me up. I love that Wi-Fi is the wave of the flying future, as I write about in my story “Urgent Message,” and I’m looking forward to much in-the-air flirting.

Whether you’re a member of the Mile High Club or just want to be, I hope these stories take you on some exciting trips, and that your next plane ride is just as eventful! Please feel free to share your story or keep up with what’s new in plane sex at my blog at https://milehighclubbook.wordpress.com.

Flight-themed Fly Lounge in Washington, DC

December 24, 2008

I just discovered the bar Fly Lounge in Washington, DC via Metromix. Sounds great! In The Mile High Club, the authors don’t get into so much the fetishization of airplanes and pilots 9though they do of flight attendants a bit), but that’s another interesting aspect, about those who love flying and being around flying culture. They’re also opening one in Aspen; next time I’m in DC I will check this place out!

Inside Look at Fly: An exclusive aviation themed lounge Join the mile high club Join the mile high club Join the mile high club

To an extent, Dupont Circle’s Fly Lounge is a lot like the act of joining the real mile high club. It is undeniably sexy, steamy and accessible only to a lucky few who get the casual nod. Despite all the hype, the real thing’s probably a bit more cramped than you had anticipated.

Since its debut in 2006, Fly has generated a lot of buzz as one of the most unique and exclusive clubs in the District. Founded by a local DJ-turned-pilot, the lounge is fully immersed in a sleek aviation theme. Fly’s interior is modeled after the cylindrical cabin of a hyper-classy private jet. Beautiful waitresses navigate the crowd in skimpy stewardess uniforms, complete with short skirts, neck scarves and bosom-hugging button-downs with winged lapel pins. Small LCD screens line the walls, displaying lucid images of passing clouds. Tables are even stocked with miniature packs of mixed nuts to complete the feel.

For such a small space (capacity is capped at 120), Fly packs in a surprising amount of energy. The venue’s impressively powerful sound system pulsates an eclectic mix of danceable music, facilitating a kinetic vibe. The DJ spins an engaging blend of house-infused rock, 80s pop, funk and hip-hop, promising to get even the most timid clubbers on the dance floor. Just try standing still when you hear Johnny Cash successfully transition into Kanye. Not possible.

9 percent of people have had sex on a commercial airliner!

December 15, 2008

from Budget Travel, quoting from the book Airline Confidential: Lifting the Lid on the Airline Industry (which has a blog):

A recent survey found that around 9 percent of people admitted to having has sex on board a commercial airliner. The respondents were evenly split between men and women, perhaps indicating that the traditional wisdom that men tend to brag and women tend to be modest when asked questions about sex may be fading. Before you start checking around you on your next flight to see if close to one in ten people are at it, don’t forget that only means that they may have done it on one occasion, not every time they fly!

What is it that makes talk of sexual exploits on board aircraft so fascinating? It’s possibly linked to the whole romance that used to be associated with flying. In the days when aircraft actually had proper bunk beds, and when air travel was the preserve of the very rich and the very famous; back then passengers were probably both. These days with air travel being more akin to getting on and off a bus the romance has very definitely gone out of flying.

Another aspect of the whole sex and travel routine is the single guy, and particularly the businessman who somehow thinks that every air stewardess, flight attendant, trolley dolly, call them what you like, is going to be instantly attracted to them. Watching lonely business travelers chatting up flight attendants is still one of the saddest sights to behold. New research shows that air stewardesses are facing increasing levels of harassment. Even the British Medical Journal has got in on the act claiming that passengers have pestered one in five stewardesses. The research was undertaken among 2,000 stewardesses who worked between 1965 and 1995 for Alitalia, the Italian airline.

The Mile High Club lineup!

December 2, 2008

Woo-hoo! I just got the lineup for The Mile High Club: Plane Sex Stories approved. I will post my intro once it’s back from the copyeditor, and will hopefully get some teasers in here and down the road interview some of these fabulous authors! I’ve been having so much fun digging into plane factoids and other fun stuff. And maybe I’ll actually get to join (or rather, rejoin) the Mile High Club in 2009!

Turtle joins the Mile High Club on Entourage

November 1, 2008

Turtle joins the Mile High Club on Entourage, and it made Newsday‘s Best Printable Line about Entourage:

Wow. That’s about all I can say after listening to Ari Gold light up Turtle in the bar at the end of the episode when he finds out that Turtle single-handedly joined the Mile High Club thanks to Jamie-Lynn Sigler.

It was the stuff that makes Best Printable Line worth the time each week.

“Oh yeah, yeah, I’m sure she’s got a fetish for guys who are built like a ‘South Park’ character.”
